About Sugar House
Sugar House got its name from the area's early pioneers due to its loamy soil, which was perfect for growing and cultivating sugar beets. At the heart of its location is the bustling hub of 2100 South and Highland Drive, where residents and travelers alike gather to walk, talk, and shop until well into the evening. This corner is also home to a long-time development, affectionally called "Sugar Hole" by residents. The multi-use building is one of the hottest spots in the city and houses condos, restaurants, and shops.
Area Restaurants and Dining
Known for its pub fare, the Sugar House neighborhood is a must-stop for hungry Salt Lakers! Two of Sugar House's most well-known breweries recently opened restaurants at Highland and 2100 South. The new restaurants include Wasatch Brew Pub and The Annex, both of which have unique dishes and beer pairings. Another long-time favorite is Sugar House BBQ, which boasts hearty plates of comfort food. For a night on the town, college kids prefer the dark, cozy, and comfortable feel of Sugar House Pub, while Campfire Lounge offers a more relaxed feel.

While it's more important than ever to buy local these days, Sugar House adopted the movement a long time ago. The area has a wide range of cool shops. Sugar House Park stretches across more than 110 acres smack dab in the middle of the neighborhood. Transportation
Residents and commuters alike can get around the neighborhood easily thanks to the new Sugar House Streetcar. It connects the Sugar House Business District with the Central Pointe TRAX station and South Salt Lake. Sugar House also offers easy access to the UTA light rail system, making commuting to and from the neighborhood a breeze.
